Reply to: Facebook’s Timeline Will Impact Your Career
Good article.
Alexandra Samuel writes in the Harvard Business Review blog about the effects of Facebook‘s Timeline on your career. This reinforces what I hope everyone already knew, that whatever you post online is available for all to see. Alexandra identifies three ways that the timeline upgrade will affect you:
1) You’ll know too much about your colleagues
2) Your colleagues will know the “propersonal” you
3) You’ll know more about yourself
The article points out how not only companies, but people view each other based on what they can find out about them online. With Facebook, you are able to control a major portion of this. What you post online is available for all to see – be responsible and take ownership of your actions. How people interpret your post is how people will view you.
